13th Five Year Plan

After the 13th Five Year Plan, several schemes have been implemented in India and Tamil Nadu with the aim of capacity development by 2025. Below is a list of them, along with details of year, scheme name, usage, allocation percentage, state share (MW), and sector:

Details of the schemes:

1. Skill India Mission: Application: This scheme provides skill development and entrepreneurship training with an allocation of Rs 8,800 crore from 2022-23 to 2025-26.

2. ‘Neeye Unukum Raja’ Scheme: Application: This scheme, launched by the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation, provides job training to the youth and has issued job orders to 1,300 people.

3. Skill Training Scheme for Rural Youth:Application: In Chengalpattu district, it provides technical training to rural youth between the ages of 18 and 35 and helps them earn a sustainable income.

4. Vocational Training for Knitwear Youth : Application: In Tiruppur zone, 1,000 youth are being provided technical training in the knitwear sector such as sewing machine operator and merchandising.

Current Activities:

·       Renewable Energy Development: Countries around the world are investing in renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydroelectricity. This helps to mitigate climate change and meet energy needs.

·       Energy Efficiency Improvement: Technological developments and modern methods are being used to increase efficiency in electricity use. This helps to reduce electricity losses and reduce costs.

·       Green Hydrogen: Many countries are conducting research and investing in the production and use of green hydrogen. It is considered a clean energy source.

Future Plans:

§§  Climate Change Policies: Many countries have set goals to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050 or 2070. Based on this, investments are being made in renewable energy use, energy efficiency, and conservation technologies.

§  Energy Crisis Management: Governments around the world are investing in sectors that use diverse energy sources to ensure energy security. This helps to reduce disruptions in energy supply.

§  International Cooperation: Global organizations coordinate technology sharing, financial support, and research efforts to promote international cooperation in the energy sector.

§  The National Renewable Energy Laboratory is a national laboratory of the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, operated by the Alliance for Sustainable Energy LLC.

Ø  These activities and projects are designed to help the global energy sector become more efficient, sustainable, and environmentally sound.

These projects aim to develop long-term capacity in India and Tamil Nadu, and help create skilled human resources in multiple sectors.
