support from the World Bank, focuses on enhancing women's employment
opportunities and ensuring their safety. Key components include:
Ø  Talent Assessment Platform: Assessing the skills of girl

hubs for the elderly living alone.
These initiatives aim to bridge the

3. Revised Income Ceiling for
Women and Children Welfare Schemes:
Effective
from December 2024, the Tamil Nadu government raised the annual income ceiling
for families availing of women and children-centric welfare schemes from ₹72,000
to ₹1.2 lakh. This revision allows more beneficiaries to access various
initiatives, including:
Ø  Chief Minister's Girl Child
Protection Scheme:
Financial support for families with single or two girl children.
Ø  Marriage Assistance Scheme for
Daughters of Poor Widows:
Financial aid to support marriage expenses.
Ø  Free Supply of Sewing Machines

ceiling reflects the government's commitment to adapting to economic changes
and extending support to a broader segment of the population.
These
initiatives underscore the Tamil Nadu government's dedication to fostering
women's empowerment through financial assistance, employment opportunities, and
supportive welfare measures.
